Post-Election Seminars
Post-Election Seminars seek to strengthen democracy by exposing Parliaments that have had a large intake of new Members to information on best parliamentary practice from around the Commonwealth.
To enable Parliamentarians to better carry out their duties in an informed and professional way, the CPA mobilizes teams of experienced Presiding Officers, government and opposition Members and parliamentary officials to attend these Post-Election Seminars.
Since the 1991 the Association has undertaken an intensive programme of 39 seminars in Commonwealth countries.
Post-election seminars have been held in: Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas (two), Bangladesh, Barbados (two), Bermuda, Botswana (two), Cayman Islands, Fiji Islands, Ghana (two), Guyana, Kenya (four), KwaZulu-Natal, Lesotho (two), Malawi (two), Maldives, Pakistan, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands,Tanzania,Trinidad and Tobago (two),Turks and Caicos Islands, Uganda, Zambia (three), Zanzibar and Zimbabwe (two).
